Rescue Squad Celebrates Milestone, Honors Deputies Shot In The Line Of Duty

L to R: Cpl. Kimber Gist, Chief Bill Salisbury and Captain Will Rogers (Now Retired) On Friday night, the Berkeley County Rescue Squad held its annual Christmas dinner at Wampee in Pinopolis. As always, the food was amazing. We also celebrated a huge milestone. It's hard to believe, but we've been in operation for 50 years now and still going strong. We hope to be around serving the community for many more years to come! In attendance at last night's dinner were also two very special guests: Cpl. Kimber Gist and Captain Will Rogers with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office. Both were shot in the line of duty nine months apart from one another. Kimber & Will share a hug. Chief Bill Salisbury and the rest of the rescue squad honored them both with the "Hero of the Year" award. 9-11 Heroes Run (Charleston)--Help represent our team!

The Berkeley County Rescue Squad is excited to announce that we are one of two beneficiaries of this year's  9/11 Heroes Run - Charleston, SC .  This means a portion of the proceeds generated from the event will go toward helping the squad with being able to continue to provide its services to the community 24/7 and FREE of charge.  Early-bird registration for the event is now open. Berkeley County Rescue Squad Locates Missing Boaters

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.--Two boaters who went missing for several hours were safely located by first responders early Sunday morning. Around 3:30 a.m., the Berkeley County Rescue Squad, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and Pimlico Fire Department were dispatched to the Cypress Gardens boat landing to search for the missing men. Loved ones of the two boaters reportedly became concerned after they failed to return home Saturday evening. Less than an hour into the search, the Berkeley County Rescue Squad located the missing men near Pimlico. The men stated they were unfamiliar with the area, got lost, became low on gas and their phones stopped working and couldn’t call for help. After locating the two men, the Berkeley County Rescue Squad made sure they got back safely to the boat landing.
