Berkeley Co. Rescue Squad Members Search For Ohio Man

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, the Berkeley Co. Rescue Squad was dispatched to Wapoola Plantation off of Cypress Gardens Road to help locate a 58-year-old Jesse Conley of Waverly, Ohio.
Conley’s 2011 white Chevy Camaro was located early Saturday morning by a hunter. A search of the nearby wooded area for the missing man came up empty.
Squad members are receiving assistance from the Berkeley Co. Sheriff’s Office, SLED, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Moncks Corner Rural Fire Department and Pimlico Volunteer Fire Department.
First responders have been searching the plantation, which consists of several thousand acres, by foot, boat, horse and four-wheeler.
The Charleston Co. Sheriff’s Office has also been searching the area by helicopter.
According to family members, Conley has disappeared several times before and ultimately located in rural areas far from Ohio.
Per a phone ping initiated by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, the last known location of Conley was 500 Angel Rest Drive in Pearisburg, Virginia on October 22, 2014.
At this time there is no reason to suspect foul play.
