Berkeley County Rescue Squad Recovers Drowning Victim's Body


BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of Sunday’s drowning victim on the Cooper River near Pimlico.
According to Coroner Bill Salisbury, the victim has been identified as 21-year-old Hunter Morris of Goose Creek.

On Sunday around, 2:30 p.m. the Berkeley County Rescue Squad was dispatched to the Cooper River near Pimlico to a boating accident.
A fisherman pulled a female out of the water and she was transported by EMS to a local hospital.

Missing from the boat was the operator was the young man.
A search was conducted using boats, aircraft, and divers.
A Berkeley County Sheriff diver located Morris’ body at 5:45 pm.
His death has been ruled an accidental drowning by Coroner Salisbury.
